Nabil E. El-Sherif, MD

Dr. El-SherifNabil El-Sherif, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Physiology and Associate Vice Chairman for Research at the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Dr. El-Sherif is also the Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology program at the SUNY Health Science Center and Chief of the Cardiology division at the New York Harbor VA Healthcare System. Dr. El-Sherif has been on the faculty at SUNY since 1979. He received his education at Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt and served on the faculty as well.

Dr. El-Sherif is a member of several national and international medical societies including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, American Federation for Clinical Research, American Heart Association, and Cardiac Electrophysiology Society. He serves on the editorial board of several journals.

Dr. El-Sherif is an internationally recognized authority in Cardiac Electrophysiology. His research covers the spectrum of cardiac electrophysiology from the cell to bedside. He has published over 500 peer reviewed manuscripts, reviews, and book chapters and has edited 8 books in the field of cardiac arrhythmias. Additionally, Dr. El-Sherif has served as mentor to numerous trainees.
