Dr. Johnson is an Associate Professor of Clinical Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of Arizona . He is the primary investigator for the Herb Core of the Arizona Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics, investigating the use of herbs, supplements, and over-the-counter remedies in Hispanic women with diabetes in the Southwest. Dr. Johnson also currently serves as the Medical Director for the Arizona Area Health Education Center , and is the Director of the MD-MPH Dual Degree Program at the University of Arizona . Dr. Johnson has served as Medical Director and clinician in both rural and urban clinics. His longstanding interest in herbal remedies led to the authorship of Pocket Guide to Herbal Remedies, a book designed to help health care professionals discuss herb use with patients.
